1. Saccasan Bailey (SB) has created this Privacy Policy and Information Collection Statement (together referred to as "this Privacy Policy ") in order to demonstrate its firm commitment to privacy.
2. SB is bound by the Privacy Act and the National Privacy Principles (NPP).
3. SB will update this privacy policy as required. If it is changed, the changes will be posted on SB’s website so that you are always aware of the sort of information collected, how the information may be used, and under what circumstances it may be disclosed by SB.
4. Please note that if at any time SB is required by law to release information about you or your organisation, SB must cooperate fully.
This Privacy Policy does not apply to acts or practices of SB that are directly related to employee records of current or former employees.
5. SB collects information about you ("the Information") in the following ways:-
- SB collects information directly from you or your organisation when you engage us to provide you with accounting, taxation, audit, financial planning and management consulting services.
- When you correspond with us both electronically and non-electronically or meet with us we record any details which might be relevant to help us provide you with the services that we are engaged to perform.
- SB collects information from its alliance partners when it is providing services to clients. An example of this is when we speak to your insurance broker or solicitor to clarify details connected with the work we are doing.
- SB also collects information pertaining to your financial affairs from third parties such as banks, financial institutions, the Australian Taxation Office, insurance companies, suppliers and customers of your business and other industry regulatory bodies. This information is collected in order to complete the various services that you have engaged us to perform.
6. If you do not provide us with the information that we request we are unable to complete the work that you have engaged us to perform. As a result:-
- We might not be able to satisfy the statutory reporting requirements as set down by industry regulatory bodies, on your behalf. Consequently you may incur significant penalties, and
- We cannot provide accurate advice and consulting services to you, which may be to the detriment to you or your business in the long term.
7. SB collects the Information to provide you with the various services that you have engaged us to perform. For example, we may use the information you provide us to provide accounting, taxation, audit, financial planning and management consulting services.
8. SB also uses the Information to send you information (either by e-mail or post) that you request.
9. SB will also use the information to send you information not explicitly requested. The purpose of such information includes advertising upcoming seminars which you might be interested in. We will also advise you regarding legislation changes and new compliance issues which we feel might be relevant to you or your business.
10. SB also provides information to third parties as approved by you for example your bank.
If at any time you receive material that you did not request or you do not want to receive such material any more, see Correcting and Updating Your Profile below.
11. SB will not sell, rent, trade or otherwise supply to third parties any personal information obtained from you unless you consent.
12. SB develops aggregate (ie. not individual) reports which incorporate some of the Information. The reports are for use by our business partners. However, these reports do not include any personally identifiable information.
13. SB has security measures designed to protect against the loss, misuse and/or alteration of the Information under its control.
14. These security measures include:-
- Premises that are fully secured with security keys and access codes required for entry after business hours.
- Access to our computer systems are restricted and all data is password protected. We have also invested in firewall security.
- Implementation of Gateway Security to protect against virus, Trojan and intrusion detection.
- All SB employees, as part of their employment contracts, are required to sign confidentiality agreements. These agreements are specifically designed to protect the privacy of our clients and their businesses.
- Permanently held data is only maintained electronically.
15. SB gives you the following options for accessing and modifying Information previously provided.
- You may gain access to Information that SB has collected about you, by contacting the person named below. We will not charge you for responding to such a request, unless we incur costs in providing the information.
- You can email any changes to your personal or business details to the person whose details are listed below.
